How overseas sales work

Ship to a warehouse in Japan,
and reach buyers overseas.

Overseas sales on ECport use Buyee Connect (BEENOS Solutions Inc.), a purchasing service that delivers Japanese products abroad. When an order comes from overseas, you simply ship the item to Buyee's warehouse in Japan. Buyee handles shipping abroad.

Buyee ships abroad
The shop ships to Buyee's warehouse in Japan, the same way as a domestic order. There is no need to prepare international shipping labels, customs documents or duty payments.
Available on every plan
Overseas sales are available on every plan: Starter, Standard, Business.
Starts after application and review
Each storefront applies, and orders open once Buyee's review is passed. Until then, customers in Japan can keep buying as usual.

How it works

Overseas orders go out with your usual shipping.

Once orders are open, this is the flow from an overseas order to delivery.

  1. 01

    An order from overseas

Buyers visiting from abroad see a purchase screen in their browser's language and order through Buyee.

  2. 02

    Check the order

Orders placed through Buyee appear in the same order details as domestic orders.

  3. 03

Ship to Buyee's warehouse in Japan

Ship to the address shown in the order details (Buyee's warehouse in Japan), the same way as a domestic order.

  4. 04

    Checked, packed and sent abroad

Buyee checks the item, packs it for international shipping and sends it abroad. Buyee also handles customs and duties.

  5. 05

    Delivered to the buyer

The buyer chooses a shipping method and pays for shipping, and the item is delivered overseas.

Conditions

What you can do, and what to check first

What you can do

  • Reach overseas buyers just by shipping to Buyee's warehouse in Japan
  • Check domestic and overseas orders in the same dashboard
  • Let overseas buyers order on a purchase screen in their browser's language
  • Set an overseas price separately from the domestic price

Check before you start

  • Each storefront applies separately. Add "Overseas" to the sales areas, publish the storefront and list at least one product with a price, and you can request the application (you can save your entries as a draft before publishing).
  • Orders open only after Buyee's review. Sending the application alone does not start overseas sales.
  • Until orders open, customers visiting from abroad see a message that overseas purchases are being prepared.
  • Some products cannot be sold abroad because of laws, export and import rules, carrier restrictions, or the destination country or region.
  • Subscription products cannot be bought through Buyee.
  • Duties, import procedures, refunds and similar matters follow Buyee's terms.

Getting started

From application to opening orders

  1. 01

Add "Overseas" to your sales areas

In the storefront's basic settings, add "Overseas" to the sales areas.

  2. 02

Publish your storefront and list products

Publish your storefront and list at least one product with a price. Buyee reviews storefronts that are public and show their products.

  3. 03

Fill in and request the application

Enter the applicant details, your business and product categories, and the logo, shop description and shop image sent to Buyee, agree to share the information with Buyee's operating company, and request the application.

  4. 04

    ECport's check and Buyee's review

The ECport team checks the details and applies to Buyee. The review takes a few business days. Until the team applies, you can edit and resend the request, or withdraw it. If anything needs to be corrected, the ECport team will tell you why.

  5. 05

Purchase button set up and orders open

Once approved, the ECport team sets up Buyee's purchase button on your storefront, and overseas orders open. When an order comes in, ship it to Buyee's warehouse in Japan.
