For media and creators

Turn what you feature
into a store people can buy from.

Sell the products you feature in articles, shows and social media on your own online store. Products from makers can be listed without holding stock, and you can place products inside articles on your store.

An example business concept: a person presenting a wooden bowl in front of a camera, next to an online store listing the product

* These are example concepts, not existing implementations.

Place products inside articles
Publish articles on your online store and feature products sold on that store inside them.
Handle products without stock
For connected products, the supplying maker manages the stock and ships.
Run it as your own store
Decide the range, design and features yourself, and receive the sales commission on what sells.

Ways to earn

Send buyers elsewhere, or sell in your own store.

There are two ways to earn from the products you feature: sending buyers to another company's site, or selling on your own online store. Affiliate terms differ by provider; this shows the general pattern.

QUESTION THEMES

  • Getting started
  • Articles and products
  • Stock and sourcing
  • Rewards and fees
01What is media commerce?

It is a way of selling in which products are featured in content such as articles, shows and social media, leading straight to a purchase. On ECport, media and creators run their own online store and sell the products they feature.

02Can we start selling without holding stock?

Yes. Request a connection to products that makers publish on ECport, and once approved, you can sell them on your own online store. The supplying business manages stock and ships.

03Can readers buy products from an article?

Yes. Publish articles on your online store and place products sold on that store inside them. You can choose from four layouts.

04How is this different from affiliate marketing?

Affiliate marketing generally means sending buyers to another company's site and receiving a reward based on results. When you sell on your own online store, the purchase happens on your store, you decide the range and presentation, and you receive the sales commission on what sells. The store operator responds first to buyer inquiries.

05Can we sell products featured in a magazine or show?

If the maker publishes its products on ECport, request a connection, and once approved, they can be listed on your store. Products from businesses not on ECport cannot be handled through connected selling.

06Can individual creators on YouTube or Instagram use it?

Sole proprietors can register as a business and use it. Build an online store and guide people to it and to product pages from the social media you post on.

07How is the sales commission rate decided?

It is the store's standard rate or a rate agreed with the other business for each product. In addition, ECport's connected-selling fee applies when a connected sale is made (Starter 6.5%・Standard 2.75%・Business 2%, excluding tax).
